Serving West Tacoma since 1956
Club records indicate that the Optimist Club of West Tacoma was chartered on May 6, 1956. Since then, members have served Tacoma, University Place, and neighboring communities with a special emphasis on programs that benefit, recognize, and involve young people.
We are an independent local club within Optimist International, united by a belief that practical service and genuine fellowship can bring out the best in youth, our communities, and ourselves.
Our enduring commitments
- Meet local needs through hands-on service.
- Create opportunities for young people to lead and thrive.
- Recognize achievement and encourage optimism.
- Preserve the stories of the people who built this club.
